For the 33rd season of Shakespeare in the Park, SF Shakes will present a production of The Winter’s Tale. Luminous and heartbreaking, tragic and gloriously funny, The Winter’s Tale is the crowning achievement of Shakespeare’s late career, a magical tale that swoops across continents, generations, and genres to its bittersweet and beautiful conclusion

King Leontes of Sicilia trusts his own paranoid beliefs against all evidence to the contrary, plunging his kingdom into a chain of tragedies – culminating in Shakespeare’s most famous stage direction, “Exit pursued by a Bear.” But in the play’s darkest hour, a baby girl survives to grow up in the happy kingdom of Bohemia, ignorant of her noble past. Thanks to the wisdom of the Lady Paulina and the magic of theatre, Leontes learns that not all losses can be reversed, but redemption is possible.

Music, dance, and a trio of delightful clowns all make this romance a treat for the whole family.

Naked Kitchen, San Francisco

Making wine is a lifestyle with many ups and downs throughout the year.  The excitment which harvest brings in the fall is felt throughout the wine country all over the world.  It’s a mix of anxiety and excitment with frantic moments, controlled moments and idle moments.  It’s important during this time to remember why it is that we make wine and to celebrate this passion we share.  On October 1st we’re teaming up with long time friend and colleague Andrew Greene and putting together a 5 course Idle Cellars paired dinner at Naked Kitchen.  With fall in full swing in early October, expect some delicious red wine pairings as well as some of Andrews masterfully creative dishes.  Held at the Naked Kitchen in San Francisco’s Mission District, please be prepared to sit back and enjoy a truly idle meal.
